Christmas 2011

This year Oliver was way more into Christmas. As you could see by the last post when he decorated the Christmas tree all by himself. Each side had its own theme. On Christmas Eve we went to Aunty Debbie's and Uncle Butch's place to spend time with family. There is ran around with Cousin Kendall and tried to stay away from Cousin Brennen. We left there around 7:30 to head home and get ready for Santa to arrive. We sang Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer all the way home. Once we got home we changed into pajamas and watched a movie. Just before bedtime Oliver put out Santa's plate and some food for the reindeer. I think Oliver ate more cookies than Santa got on his plate.

He got up at about 7:15am and was right under the tree. He was open present after present when we noticed he had opened one of Eleanor's presents. The first thing he saw by his stocking was his new LeapPad. Then the excitement really kicked in when you looked into his stocking and saw a red Lightsaber. He had all his presents opened before Eleanor even woke up I think.

We then made our way to Aunty Leslie's for dinner. I think the only thing Oliver did when we were there was play LeapPad games with Cousin Kendall. He also got a Captain America Shield from Uncle Jason and lots of cool stuff from everyone else!!!

Christmas Tree Is Up

Today we put the Christmas Tree up. Oliver was super excited and Eleanor slept. Oliver was so excited he was trying to take the tree out of the box on his own when we were not watching him. Once the tree was up he grabbed his own stool from the bathroom, put it beside the tree and started to hang ornaments on his own. He only decorated the area he could reach but it turned out pretty good.

Sportball Completed!

Oliver has his last unparented Sportball class on December 5th. They played Hockey. Taylor Hall magically showed up! Well okay, it was a little boy who just loves Taylor Hall. His name is actually Oliver Goodale Thomas (as he calls himself). The coaches were playing a game with the kids and asking them what their names were. All the other kids said their real name and Oliver was at the end of the line and his answer was "Taylor Hall".

Santa and Cars

Yesterday we went to Cory's work's company family Christmas party at West Edmonton Mall. Oliver and Eleanor were able to sit with Santa and tell him what they wanted for Christmas this year. Oliver was also able to go on some rides which is very odd for him since the noise is usually enough to keep him away. We walked past one ride with cars an helicopters and he said "that would be fun Daddy". Dad almost fell over. Anyways he went on the ride and then did not want to leave until he tried all the vehicles.

Eleanor is starting to smile a lot. We haven't been able to get her to laugh yet but we sure try.

Halloween 2011

We had a superhero halloween this year. Oliver was Ironman and Eleanor was Supergirl. We also added a superhero to the squad from St Albert in the form of the Green Lantern (Mason). The day for Oliver started when he was able to wear his costume to daycare. We were a bit hesitant to let him in case he got his costume dirty or ripped it somehow. The costume survived!! We went to Mason's for trick or treating. The mom's took the boys out first to a few houses and then the Dad's and an Uncle took them for the rest of the night. We were out for about 1.5 to 2 hours. They did pretty good walking the entire way until we came home.

Oliver and Eleanor

Everyone is adjusting to Kathryn and Eleanor being home. They both came home yesterday around 1pm. Eleanor has been pretty quiet during the day but wide awake at night. Oliver really wants to be involved with Eleanor by helping to feed her and changing her diapers.We finally had the opportunity to have him help Mom change Eleanor's diaper. He was responsible for handing Mom wipes as she needed them. Mom started changing the poopy diaper but didn't realize Eleanor was not completely done. Once the diaper came off there was projectile poop and pee. Oliver saw this and make a B-Line to the kitchen and looked a bit disturbed. Mom and Dad had a really good laugh about the whole thing. Overall, things are good. Here are some more pictures.

Here she is!!!!! It has been a long three days so far. Kathryn went into the hospital on Monday around 2pm to be induced. There were some "communication" issues between her doctor and the hospital. The doctor said it was too late to do an induction when she came in. So they hooked up a non-stress test and started to say the baby's heart rate was too low to do start the induction. This was all being done without really communicating with us about what the problem was. Anyways, the induction started Tuesday morning around 2AM. By 7AM when her doctor came by nothing had really happened. After a long day and night Kathryn decided to go ahead with a c-section. Then we waited almost nine hours to get into the OR. She kept getting bumped for more emergent cases.

Then at 4:29pm Eleanor Elizabeth Goodale arrived. She was 6lbs 6oz, 49 cm (19.25inches). Here are some pictures of our newest arrival.

So far today it has been a waiting game. We are supposed to go in and have Kathryn induced if there is bed space available. So far nothing. Oh well, I guess that means I can update the blog. I took some pictures of Oliver's new room to post so everyone can see his new digs.

Over the weekend Oliver and Daddy have been busy renovating the spare room for Oliver to move into when his little sister arrives. We put in new laminate flooring and painted the walls. Here are some pictures of the painter doing his stuff.

We got approval of the colours from Oliver yesterday since we got the double fist pump "Oh Yeah" when he saw the walls starting to get colour.

It hit 28 degrees today so we decided to turn the water on in the back for Oliver. At first he was excited to go in the sprinkler until we turned it on. So we decided to let him cut the grass and spray everything, including Mommy and Daddy, to clean them.

Oliver's First Skating Lessons

Since we have this entire week off we decided to enrol Oliver in a Skating Camp with CanSkate. The program is for 3-5 year olds and is everyday at 6pm for five days. He has always wanted to skate so we got him a helmet and skates a few weekends ago and he began his lessons tonight.

Our Weekend in Calgary

On the way back home from Banff we stopped in Calgary for two nights to visit family and friends. Also, Heather was able to get her and Kathryn tickets to "Wicked" in Calgary on Saturday afternoon. While Kathryn was at the show Oliver went to High River with Grandma and Grandpa Pringle to attend Uncle Al's birthday and to swim in the dirt:-) Cory stayed in Calgary to catch-up with Kurt for the day. Trip to Banff

On Monday we left for Banff for a few nights. We stayed at the Hidden Ridge Resort on Tunnel Mountain. We usually stay in Banff right on Banff Ave but thought this time we would stay a bit off the avenue to be a bit more secluded. It was nice and quiet. This was kind of his first visit to the Mountains other than our trip to Kimberly a few years ago. He was very excited to go to the Mountains and was even more excited when we bought him some spiderman bubbles at Walmart on the way to Banff. We told him he could blow bubbles at the top of the Mountain. After we told him that it was all he could talk about. Day 1 we spent the day around Lake Louise. We took a Gondola to the top of Whitehorn Mountain. The employees told Oliver he was going into a spaceship to the top of the Mountain. He really liked that. We walked for a bit around the Mountain then headed down to the bottom. On the way down Oliver smiled and waved at everyone who passed us going the other way. After that we went to Lake Moraine.

Day 2 we took the bus into Banff and spent the day walking around the town. We even had time to go to the farmer's market to get food for dinner. We also had to make time for COWS ice cream. On Day3 we did a lot of walking. We drove to the Hoodoos on Tunnel Mountain and walked a path around them. We then drove a bit further and visited Lower Bankhead. This is an old coal mining site. We walked down three flights of stairs and walked around the site for a bit. When we were done there we went to Lake Minnewanka, had some lunch then walked partially around the lake. Oliver wanted to throw rocks into the lake at every stop. I think he really enjoyed throwing rocks. He threw rocks everywhere we went and had to be reminded many times that when people are around he should not throw rocks.

On the last day we checked out and headed to Calgary to visit Heather, Grandma and Grandpa Pringle and Kurt.

Tonsils and Adenoids have finally been removed!!

Over the past year Oliver has been has been labouring at night breathing (snoring and apneas). At first it was thought it could be allergies so we tried many different medications to see if they helped clear his airways. None of the mediations worked as well as they were thought to work if it was allergies. During last summer the doctor said it could be his tonsils and adenoids giving him issues since he had very large tonsils. With large tonsils large adenoids are also usually a problem as well. About nine months after that we had a referral to see an pediatric ENT who would make the call on removing the tonsils and adenoids. After seeing the ENT it was determined that a surgery would be necessary. The ENT said there was a 90% chance that after the surgery Oliver would improve his breathing and would not labour as much during sleep. Toddler's grow during deep sleep and Oliver was not getting to a point where he was in a deep sleep so we are also hoping that another benefit of the surgery would be some extra growth.

So now to the past weekend. Oliver finally went in for his surgery on Friday, May 20 @ 2pm. He was a trooper. He had the nurse (John) say that he was thinking of not having kids but after meeting Oliver it might have changed his mind. He also asked if joint custody was an option:-) Needless to say Oliver impressed everyone with his patience and attitude. Kudos to the Stollery centre. I think part of why he did so well was the surroundings and the staff there. Oliver was in surgery for around 1 hour. It started with getting new pajamas (looked like he was in jail) then Kathryn accompanied him into the OR to have anesthetic. He was out in about 5 seconds. Kathryn did not even have time to realize what was going on. We didn't see him for about 1.5 hours after than. He was awake and asking for us.

He stayed one night in the hospital with Mommy at his side. He was very quiet for bit after the surgery but was talking a few hours later. He slept a lot and ate chocolate cake. He could have all the popscicles and ice cream he wanted and to our surprise he didn't want any. Even today he still does not want any of the good stuff.

The first few days at home were kind of hot and cold for him. By Monday he was active again and was talking a lot more. His voice has changed a bit but seems to be getting back to normal. We expect his voice to change a bit permanently since he had a bit of a nasally voice due to his nose being plugged for the past year.

Getting ready for spring!!

Yesterday we went to United Cycle and picked up a bike helmet for Oliver. We will start having Oliver ride his trike this spring so a helmet was a must. He didn't really like wearing it too long at the store but he will need to get used to it. Here are some pics of his new helmet. Also, Daddy got a new DSLR camera!!! Hopefully he can learn how to use it.

We got Oliver a little goldfish tank for his birthday last week. We set it up last weekend and let the water condition and stabilize for the past week. Yesterday we went to Petsmart and bought him a goldfish. He was very excited!!!. Ever since we were in Maui and we went to the aquarium he has always loved to go to the fish tanks at the pet stores and he really enjoyed the aquariums at Seaworld as well. Here are some pictures of us welcoming NEMO!!

Whenever we talk about NEMO he gets excited and says "I am going to catch him". So we took his stool out of his room to ensure he does not catch him.

Oliver's 3rd Birthday!!!

The day has come and gone but yet it feels like his birthday's last the entire weekend.

This year Oliver's best buddy's mom let us use the gym at the school she teaches at. This was a fantastic idea. I kind of think all the dad's enjoyed the gym as much as the kids. There were hockey nets set up, gymnastics floor padding and tumbling equipment ready to use and many other balls and bean bags being tossed around. Oliver has just started to get a cold and was coughing the whole time but still had a great time!!

He got lots of toys and clothes. We will definitely have to go through his old toys and put them away for now to make room for all of his new toys. Here are some pictures that may give a better idea of how the day went.

I guess we kind of lied in the last post. Life is busy right now at home, work and school. Here are some pictures from the last few months. Some of the highlights were attendance at a Oil Kings game, lots of smiling and moving Oliver to a big boy bed.

Christmas 2010

Now that we have the computer set-up in our newly finished basement our hope is to update this blog more often. With Oliver growing sooooo fast and amazing/amusing us more and more we would like to share more.

This Christmas was fun for everyone. Kathryn and I were in Las Vegas for 5 days early in the month and then when we got back it Christmas!!! Oliver stayed at Grandma and Papa Goodale's place while we were away. They say he behaved very well during his stay. He went to bed when he was told and did not get up much once in bed. Well that did not last when we got home.

A few days after we were back Auntie Heather,Grandma Pringle and Grandpa Pringle came to town for a few days over the Christmas break. They had not seen him since the summer when we visited the farm. He remembered them as soon as he woke up the next morning. He got up the evening they got in but was a bit shy most likely due to the fact he was half asleep still.

For the most part he was excited for Santa to come but the presents part of Christmas was really what he was excited about. We left cookies and carrots out. Oliver ate one of the cookies before he went to bed. When he woke up Christmas morning he was very excited. He saw the presents and wanted to open and play with them all as soon as he saw them. He was a very spoiled boy this year. I think we will need to go through his old toys and either donate them or lend them to his cousin Brennan for further use.

Oliver's First Trip to Disneyland

We are back from our week long trip to Anaheim and San Diego where we went to Disneyland, Legoland and Seaworld. We also visited a little store in San Diego called Totally Thomas. We left August 24th and got back home late yesterday. Oliver slept on the plane all the way from Calgary to San Diego. We got off the plane, got our rental car then hit the I-5 to Anaheim where we stayed at the Sheraton Anaheim Hotel. The I-5 is a bit of a crazy drive but we made it there in one piece.

Once we got settled at the Hotel and had something to eat it was already around 5pm. We decided to make a change to our plans for Disneyland. We were going to get a 2-day Hopper Pass and start Disneyland the next day but since it was still early and there really was nothing else to do we decided to get a 3-day Hopper Pass and head to Disneyland that evening to get familiar with the park and see how Oliver would handle all the sites and noises. Once we got into park and started to hear all the noises all Oliver said for the first half and hour to an hour was "I want to go home, daddy, I want to go home mommy". Not a good start but it was still early in the trip. Once he started to see some familiar faces he began to come around.

The next morning we started out early. We checked the temperature and it was going to be a hot one. It was supposed to get upto 38 degrees celsius. With that knowledge we ensured we had lots of water and we all got sprayed with sunscreen. We also decided that we would do about a half day at the park then go back to the hotel for a rest and then head back to the park for the evening. This strategy worked for the two full days we were in Anaheim. It also worked well since there was a free shuttle from the hotel. During the first day we started to see Disney Characters and picked up and autograph book. The first character we saw was Goofy. Oliver was not sure of the big thing standing by the airplane. Mommy got in line and Daddy took Oliver over to the side and got him warmed up to the idea of meeting Goofy. It worked out well and Oliver met Goofy and got his autograph. Right after Goofy we headed to Condor Flats to meet Lightning McQueen and his buddy Mater. We had pictures with them. Oliver wasn't sure but when we left he was saying "Bye Lightning, Bye Mater, See you soon". After that we walked and walked and walked some more around California Adventure Park. Then we met up with Mickey Mouse. Oliver was a bit more excited to meet Mickey and I think he was getting the idea of what we were doing. He walked up and gave Mickey a hug and sat on his knee for pictures.

We also attended the Pixar Parade. We thought Oliver would enjoy this parade since he would recognize most of the characters. Well, guess again. He did not enjoy the parade until Lightening and Mater showed up at the very end. He was holding onto Daddy for dear life saying "I want to go Home". We think it was the noise. We didnt even think this would be an issue. The next day we brought his ear protectors in case we needed them for other loud events.

The next day we went to Goofy's Kitchen for brunch. It was a buffet cooked by Goofy and some of this friends were there walking around and meeting the guests as they were eating. At brunch we met Pluto, Goofy, Chip, Dale, Snow White, Jasmine, and Balou. Oliver seemed to interact better with the human characters than the costumed ones. That day we also met Donald Duck and Pinocchio. Oh, how can I forget. We also met Minnie Mouse. Oliver really liked Minnie Mouse and could not wait to meet her.

By the end of the 2nd full day at Disneyland Oliver was super tired and was talking away and not making any sense at all:-)

Sunday with Auntie Heather!!

We met up with Auntie Heather in Red Deer a few weeks ago. We planned on meeting in Sylvan Lake but after sitting on the beach for about half and hour but we found it too cold so we decided to make a change in our plans. We went into Red Deer and visited the Farm. We had an awesome time touching the tractors and seeing the lambs, sheep, donkeys, billy goats etc. We even found an "Oliver" tractor. We then ended the day with some ice cream. Not sure if Oliver enjoyed it but Mommy, Daddy and Auntie Heather enjoyed it.

Oliver Meets Bob the Builder

So what do you think Oilver would do if he met Bob the Builder? Well we found out what he would do. We took Oliver to a meet and greet at Capital Ex a few weeks ago. We were about the seventh in line so we got Bob before he got too tired.

Fillmore Summer 2010 Trip

We all visited Grandma and Grandpa Pringle last week for the entire week! There is lots of room out there to run around and chase 'Cat'. Oliver made a new friend at the farm. He named it 'Cat'. Can you guess what it was?

We also visited the RCMP museum, Western Development Museum and we also went on a tour of the Moosejaw Tunnels. We went on the Al Capone tour and became bootleggers. He must have really wanted to be a bootlegger because he really enjoyed the tour. He got right into the tour. When everyone would start walking to another room you would say "Come on, lets go". I think he really like our tour guide for the first part of the tour "Ms. Fanny". He seemed extremely fascinated and could not take his eyes of her. It was super hot out at the farm for the first two days and then it cooled down a bit. He ran around the first few days in just his diaper and sometimes his rubber boots.

We drove home on Friday. In typical Oliver fashion he only slept for about an hour and a bit on the way home but wasnt too fussy.

Basement Renos

Here are a few pics that should the progress of our basement renos. The framing is done, plumber was here today and broke the concrete and ran the water lines. We also started the electrical a few days ago. we have put a deposit on carpet as well. We went with a berber carpet.

I have had the help and guidance from Donna & Brian Logue and had monthly appointments with them over the past 18 months. Well, they have become quite fond of Oliver and he of them. We just got home from a weekend trip to Calgary to meet Thomas the Tank Engine. He was at Heritage Park on Saturday and we decided to take Oliver for a train ride. We met up with Aunty Heather, Amy, Garret and Mason. It was a super nice weekend and we are glad we picked this weekend to go. Oliver really enjoyed himself and was visibly upset when Thomas left without taking him along. He ran after Thomas yelling "Thomas Wait Thomas Wait". Bad Cold and first Antibiotics

Well Oliver has a really bad cold right now. The daycare called on Thursday and asked Kathryn to come and pick up him up. He was too tired to get out of his cot and have a snack. We knew he had a bit of a cough but didn't know it was that bad. The next day he was very lethargic and would cough every few seconds. This must have been very draining since he fell asleep during his bath. He has never done that before.

This morning he is a tonne better. He is talking a lot more and more energetic and the cough is pretty much gone. He is watching "Cars" right now since he absolutely loved watching that movie.

I met my buddy Mason today at Fountain Park for some play time. We had a fun time climbing, crawling, sliding, and slam dunking! I hadn't seen Mason in awhile - he's sure gotten tall.

Christmas Day Morning

This Christmas was a lot different than last year. Oliver was a bit more aware of what Christmas was. Everytime he sees Santa Claus he says "Santa" and if you ask him what Santa says he says "Ho Ho". It is very cute. Before Oliver went to bed on Christmas Eve he put out some carrots for the Reindeer and some cookies and egg nog for Santa. He didnt want to put the cookies out for some reason. He took one and took a bite then put it back on the plate then wanted to put the cookies back i n the bag.

We were up at about 6am to open presents then after presents we had some Maui pancakes (chocolate and macadamia nuts). This year we gave...I mean..Santa brought Oliver an art desk. When Santa thought of this he didnt really thinkabout how big it was but I think we were able to find a good spot for it. He also go more little people toys from Grandma and Grandpa Pringle, a front loader from Aunty Shauna and Uncle Simon (Oliver calls it "Machine"), some Dr. Seuss bed sheets from Aunty Heather and some Elmo walkie talkies from Aunty Abbi.

He is having a nap right now then it will be off to Grandma and Grandpa Goodales for dinner and more present opening/.

Getting Ready for Christmas

With Christmas getting closer Oliver has been busy helping Mom with the baking for the holidays. He helped make chocolate bark!! Everyone loved chocolate bark and Oliver especially liked the chocolate chips. That kid will eat anything off the floor. He was also able to help decorate the tree then un-decorate the tree then decorate the tree and then ......well you get the picture.

This evening I went for my first haircut! I went to Beaners in St. Albert. They had a ball pit and I got my haircut in a red hummer.

Happy Halloween Everyone! Oliver had a good night. We visited Grandma and Grandpa Goodale's and Great Grandma Pietrzykowski's. Then we came home and had dinner then went to a couple of places in the neighbourhood. He seemed to enjoy the monkey costume more than the skunk from last year. We had about 40 kids at the house trick or treating.

In a couple of weeks we are off to Maui for a Pringle family vacation. I am soo looking forward to the break!

We just realized we havent posted anything for a few weeks yet we have lots of new pictures. Oliver is now 20.5lbs. He is consistently growing on the same curve which is good. He is saying lots of new words (cheerios, turtle, duck, egg, juice) He has also learned to use the camera. Lets see if you can tell which one below is his first picture.

He went yesterday for his 18 month immunizations and his flu shot. He performed like a champ for the first two. No crying and pretty much didnt even winse and the pain. The last one was the one that hurt the most and he cried for about 10 seconds.

A Day at the Zoo!!!

On Sunday, August 9 Oliver had his first visit to the Zoo. And who better to guide him than his buddy Mason who had been there once before. They must have called each other to make sure they were wearing the same t-shirt. We saw zebras, camels, tigers, birds, guinee pigs..........there were a lot of animals.

Saskatchewan Trip...FINALLY!!

Hi everyone,

So we spent almost a week in Fillmore and a few days in Regina. The purpose of the trip was Shauna and Simon's wedding. An added benefit from us arriving a week prior to the wedding was a visit with Grandma and Grandpa Pringle. Oliver was able to spend some quality time updating Grandma and Grandpa Pringle about what has been happening over the past few months, learning how to drive a John Deere tractor, met some kitties, played in the pool, ate some grass, met some cows, met great aunties and some great great aunties.

We think he met everyone at the wedding before the Bride and Groom did:-)

Tonight Mummy, Daddy, and I "drove" to 7-11 for some ice cream for us to share. On the way back we took a short cut through the park where we stopped and took some pictures. I enjoy going for drives in my car and honking my horn!

A Weekend of Firsts!!

We all had an exciting weekend. Oliver did a few things for the first time or at least that we have seen for the first time. The first thing he did was crawl all the way up our stairs to the second level. We never thought we would see this but he made it!! Then we went to get him from his nap and Kathryn found him standing in the crib. It was a bit funny until we realized what trouble we are now in.

We immediately went to the store and bought a gate for the bottom of the stairs to ensure when he goes up the stairs on his own he will be supervised.

Well, it appears that our nights of Oliver going to bed easily are over. For the past two weeks he has put up such a fuss when it is bed time. He thinks that he has it all figured out. He thinks that if he puts up a fuss he will be able to sleep in Mum and Dad's bed. For the first couple of nights we did that and he would giggle and fall straight to sleep. But I finally thought that we'd had enough of that and for the past two nights he has had to just deal! Last night it took about an hour and tonight about 40 minutes. So hopefully he will get used to his own bed again!

Well, good night 'cause I am tired!

Well, our fever from the weekend was not a result of Oliver's immunizations. Somewhere along the way he picked up Roseola (Baby Measles). The fever broke Monday and he seemed like he was getting back to being himself. But when we picked him up after work from Grandma G's his forehead was covered with a rash. We had already scheduled a Dr's appointment for the next day regarding his weight so we thought that we would just asked Dr D about the rash then. I didn't go into work Wednesday or today but I think that he is well enough to go back to Grandma G's tomorrow. His rash is pretty much all gone and he is almost back to his old self. His appetite is not quite what we would like it to be but who am I kidding - he has never been a great eater! But we are all glad he is on the mend!

The easter bunny has come and gone. He didn't bring any chocolate this year but maybe he will this year. He did bring a new book, a bath toy, and a new outfit.

We did get 2 out of the 3 twelve month shots thursday evening. He has never reacted to the shots before but this time he came down with a fever for about 2 days. So he didn't get to have too much Easter fun. All he ate for dinner last night was ice cream from Auntie Heather's dish.

Wow!!! What a day. It was exciting and tiring for all of us here. One Year old!! I think Kathryn and I both have to keep saying it because it doesnt sound real. But we know it is an we have to accept our little boy is growing up. We had family over for the afternoon for Oliver's birthday. On the menu was Macaroni and Cheese and BBQ'd hotdogs. Then for dessert Kathryn made banana cupcakes. They were awesome. Oliver had his first cupcake as well as his first bit of hotdog. He enjoyed both.

I was also finally challenged with my first big project to build for Oliver. I got my tools out (a screwdriver) and put my handy-man hat on. I tackled the Castle. It went well at first. I was on taget for hitting the 20 minute time imposed by the instructions on the box until a realized I had the screws mixed up. It ended up taken me 45 minutes (I think). The other items (car and tricycle) were not as challenging since I learned to follow the instructions closer.

Last night we were doing some cleaning up before some of Oliver's swimming buddies came over this morning. Cory left the paper towel on the floor and Oliver had some fun with it.

We haven't done much so far this week. I have enrolled Oliver in swimming lessons but they don't start for another couple of weeks. They are Tuesday evenings so that I can take him after I get off work.

These are the contact sheets from Oliver's Blueframe session that we had in February. Cory and I met with Kristi on Monday to go over the pictures. We think that they turned out fantastic! There aren't as many as the first session that we had because the model got a little cranky in the end. We hope to decide what photos we are going to order soon.

Oliver is still working on his crawling. He gets up on his knees and lunges forward but ends up pulling himself forward on his belly! We will get there one day! He does like backing into small spaces foresure! In these pictures he has backed himself to a small space between a side table and the couch.

I have less than a month now before I return to work. Our activies are starting to wind down. Books for Babies ended to day, and Rhymes that Bind and Waterbabies finish up in the next couple of weeks. I am hoping to enroll Oliver in swimming lessons on Saturdays after I return to work. I can't believe the year has gone so fast!

Oliver and I are back in Edmonton after a visit to Sk. It was a little different this time. Sleeping was an issue this time. He didn't go down as easily as he did in August. But we did have a lot of good visiting time. We went to the library, the store, and the healthcentre. We even squeezed in a visit with friends in Regina.

One of the highlights of the trip for Oliver was a sleigh ride with Grandpa. Here are some pictures.

Teddy's Tuxedo

This is Oliver in Teddy's Tuxedo. Uncle Simon bought it for his Teddy when he proposed to Auntie Shauna. Auntie Shauna sent it to us awhile a go and thought that it would fit for the wedding in July. I was hoping to get a picture of Teddy in the Tux to compare - if I do I will post it later.

I Like Cheerios!!!

Oliver is pretty good at feeding himself Cheerios! We are moving into the finger food stage! Yea! More messes! He went to see Dr. Dansereau on Monday and she is pretty pleased with him. He weight was 16lbs 6 oz, head measurement was 45 cm, and his length was 67 cm. She said that he could eat pretty much anything but cautioned us against feeding him eggs, nut spreads, strawberries, and juices. I am okay with that. She doesn't want to see him again until he is a year old. Which is coming up soon!

We are taking Waterbabies again. The group of Moms this time is really good (not that they were bad last time). Most of the babies are in the same age/adjusted age as him. So it is interesting to see where he fits. I am hoping to take him to the library Wednesday afternoons for a drop in program and have registered us for Books for Babies again.

I wish I was on a tropical vacation ...

It is snowing and feels like -31 here today. So I thought that we could pretend that we were some where warmer! Oliver has figured out what happens after the red eye light goes on and now closes his eyes when he is getting his picture taken. I only got one of him with his eyes open.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone!!

The past week leading upto Christmas has been exciting and challenging. Oliver's saying for the past week has been 'All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth'. Although his wish only came half true before Christmas arrived. He has one front tooth that has broken through his gums. His mood hasnt been too bad. I think he was grumpy for one or two nights. But once in the Jolly Jumper all his worries disappear.

Holidays have been good I had the 23rd to the 28th off from work. We had the Goodale side of the family over on the 23rd for gift openings. Grandma and Grandpa Goodale brought treats and presents, Leslie and Kendall brought presents and Jason brought presents. What else could you ask for??

The 24th brought Grandma and Grandpa Pringle and Auntie Heather. I picked up G and G Pringle from the airport early in the morning. Auntie Heather had a few more challenges driving here from Calgary (or shall we say a few flat tires). Anyways, here are some pictures from the past few days of activities.

Last night was the Epcor Christmas Gala. Cory and I got all dressed up and Cory's Mum took a family pic before we headed out. We had a really good time. We sat with the group from Cory's old department and spent the night visiting with everyone.

Oliver is now rolling everywhere! Get that loveseat out of the way - I'm coming through! And he loves to bounce in his jolly jumper. Yesterday was Epcor's Kid's Christmas party so he went and sat on Santa's knee for the first time. I am not sure what he asked for but I am sure we left with a fist full of Santa's beard!

Oliver had his 6 - 7 month check up this week. Dr. Dansereau is really pleased with his progress so we are going to keep on doing what we are doing!!! Every time we put him on his tummy now he rolls over and Dr. Dansereau says he is close to sitting up on his own! Oliver and I are keeping busy - we have stollersize on Wednesdays still with Diana and Nolan, and then on Thursday we are in Waterbabies. He seemed to like the Waterbabies - he just laid back and relaxed in the end and had lots of smiles for the instructor.

Happy Halloween!!! I am not sure Oliver liked Halloween. We couldn't get him to smile in any of his pictures. We even took him to the mall and the photographer there couldn't get him to smile. A group of people gathered around him ooohing and aahing trying to get him to smile but he just wouldn't give in. He has a little bit of a cold so I am just going to say that contributed to the unhappy Halloween.
